Teaching reading to preschoolers and children at risk for dyslexia

The book presents the author's program for preparing children from 4-5 years old for literacy and reading. The book contains outlines of all lessons with the use of theatricalization techniques for 3 years of study. The program is built on the principles that facilitate the children of the risk group to learn syllabic reading and reading comprehension. For this purpose, a set of methodological techniques has been developed, allowing children to learn the connection of graphic syllables with phonetic syllables on the basis of involuntary memorization in a game situation. This saves them from the need to master the skill of merging individual sound-letters into syllables and allows them to quickly move to syllabic reading of words. In addition, students immediately develop the skill of reading silently ("to themselves"). Therefore, this method eliminates the appearance of reading disorders even in children with a high predisposition to dyslexia. Demonstration and handout material for the notes is published separately in the form of an album "Lexical Dominoes". It contains the necessary visual-illustrative and textual material for conducting games and lessons in the pre-letter period and memorizing a small set of integral graphic images of words, which are then necessary for familiarization with syllables and letters.
