Adolfo Bioy Casares (1914-1999) was a brilliant Argentine writer, a classic of Latin American prose, one of the brightest representatives of the so-called great Argentine trinity, which also included Jorge Luis Borges, with whom Bioy Casares had a long-standing friendship and joint literary projects, and Julio Cortázar. His most famous novel, The Invention of Morel, which has spawned many imitations, including in movies, is considered an exceptional phenomenon in literature. Borges called it perfect, while Marquez, Cortázar and Stanislav Lem recognized that it influenced their work.

This collection presents three works by Bioy Casares - "The Invention of Morel", "Dream of Heroes" and "Escape Plan", each of which can serve as a model of writing.
