Strangers among their own. The Polish population in the Soviet partisan movement in the Byelorussian SSR. 1941-1944

The phrase "Polish partisans" of World War II is traditionally associated with the units of the Armia Krajowa, subordinate to the Polish government in exile. In 1944, another partisan force, the Armia Ludowa, emerged under the auspices of leftist forces. But this book will deal with another, least known category of Polish partisans - the Soviet partisans. In 1943-1944, the political and partisan leadership of the BSSR made active attempts to involve the large Polish population of Belarus in the Soviet partisan movement. Partly on the territory of the Pinsk, Baranovichi and Vileika regions of the BSSR these efforts were successful. The work of candidate of historical sciences S.V. Blagov is based on documentary material from Russian, Belarusian and Polish archives, as well as published documents and electronic databases of Belarusian partisans.
